{"id":14,"date":"2013-02-10T20:56:22","date_gmt":"2013-02-10T20:56:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trainfit.com\/blog\/?p=14"},"modified":"2015-09-08T16:42:14","modified_gmt":"2015-09-08T16:42:14","slug":"changing-my-nutrition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trainfit.com\/blog\/changing-my-nutrition\/","title":{"rendered":"Changing my nutrition."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have always had a love for running and fitness.\u00a0 When I turned 40 I wanted to run a full marathon.\u00a0 I tried this same goal when I was 30, but ended up walk\/running the whole due to an injury,\u00a0 being told I would never run a marathon without surgery.\u00a0 Well I accomplished the Marathon last year, (without surgery \ud83d\ude09\u00a0and set up a new goal to focus on my\u00a0nutrition.\u00a0 I wanted to get a better\u00a0understanding\u00a0 of how our diet affects us.\u00a0 I have been trying a Vegetarian diet since December to explore new territory.<\/p>\n<p>I saw the documentary &#8220;Forks over Knives&#8221;\u00a0in Novemeber as part of my research in nutrition and made the change immediately.\u00a0 Food is considered medicine for the body.\u00a0 I always thought easily of food as fuel, but to think of food as medicine has really had an impact for me.\u00a0 With that decision made I\u00a0easily cut out all soda and fast food.\u00a0 I focused on finding new recipes to add more veggies in my diet.\u00a0 I have found that I enjoy the search for new ideas of things to eat and with omitting meat, \u00a0I have had to gain a new understanding of which vegetables have protein in them.<\/p>\n<p>I have noticed\u00a0 an increase in my energy level during the day.\u00a0 I have lost the 2-3 pm drag I would encounter every day.\u00a0 Now I use that time to go for a walk before the kids come home.\u00a0 I am enjoying it\u00a0for now, but I feel its the focus on how to eat that is really the enjoyment for me.\u00a0 I set out to just try it for a month to see what changes I would see\u00a0and \u00a0I am going to continue and experiment with it in more depth.<\/p>\n<p>Dolores Palmer<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have always had a love for running and fitness.\u00a0 When I turned 40 I wanted to run a full marathon.\u00a0 I tried this same goal when I was 30, but ended up walk\/running the whole due to an injury,\u00a0 being told I would never run a marathon without surgery.\u00a0 Well I accomplished the Marathon [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mbp_gutenberg_autopost":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.6 -
