{"id":199,"date":"2013-08-26T01:52:41","date_gmt":"2013-08-26T01:52:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.trainfit.com\/blog\/?p=199"},"modified":"2013-08-26T01:52:41","modified_gmt":"2013-08-26T01:52:41","slug":"spirit-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trainfit.com\/blog\/spirit-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Spirit Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When it comes to health and fitness we always talk about exercising\u00a0your muscles with strength training.\u00a0 We talk about exercising your heart with cardio.\u00a0 We talk about eating healthy to support your exercise efforts and lose weight.\u00a0 Sounds like the whole package right.\u00a0 Well I say not quite.\u00a0\u00a0We will make wonderful gains with all that, but we are missing\u00a0a\u00a0piece of the puzzle if we are not\u00a0 exercising our spirit.<\/p>\n<p>I have recently participated in a 21 day meditation challenge though Oprah&#8217;s website.\u00a0 It is the 3rd one I have done and I have really been amazed at the effects it has had on me.\u00a0 When I say spirit, I mean your relationship with yourself.\u00a0 How you see yourself, how you feel about yourself and\u00a0how you take care of yourself.\u00a0 As I go through my journey with exercise, eating, working, and living my everyday rolls as Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister etc,\u00a0 the effects of my workouts, eating and what I like to think of as &#8220;Spirit training&#8221;\u00a0 all tie in together very well.\u00a0 It is the balance of these that I think is important, not so much one over the other&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Each and everyday we are putting out our energy into the world.\u00a0 What you put out is what you receive.\u00a0 I want to put out the best energy I can.\u00a0 To my spouse, kids, father, friends and clients.\u00a0 The only way I can do that is to be the best I can be.\u00a0 The only way I can do that is to take care of myself\u00a0 outside and in.\u00a0 It is easy for me to get into a routine to run, workout, get my sleep etc.\u00a0 I feel I am doing all the right things to take care of myself, but I am learning more and more that\u00a0taking care of my spirit is way more important than I had previously realized.\u00a0 When I have taken care of myself by paying attention to who I am, learning who I am,\u00a0 accepting who I am and loving who I am from the inside as well as the outside, then I\u00a0can I truly be at my best.<\/p>\n<p>I feel to help balance myself as a person it helps to have an inside and outside approach.\u00a0 Quite time in meditation can greatly enhance all of your time with other people.\u00a0 Now I am not speaking of just traditional style mediation with soft music, candle etc.\u00a0 I simple mean alone quite time with yourself.\u00a0 I find walking to be a beautiful form of mediation. \u00a0My running when I am alone is another.\u00a0 The key here that I am trying to get through is quite.\u00a0 No music, phone etc.\u00a0 Just you and you.\u00a0 Only in the quite can I truly be with me.<\/p>\n<p>I know, the thought of exercising without\u00a0music or phones\u00a0can seem crazy and uncomfortable.\u00a0 But soon you find yourself, your thoughts, your inner\u00a0peace and in this quite time amongst the chaos of our lives&#8230; we can start to\u00a0find balance. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t know I missed or needed the quite until I experienced what I was missing. \u00a0This balance helps me control the many facets and roles\u00a0that\u00a0I play in\u00a0my life and helps me enjoy the ride\u00a0more.\u00a0 Being healthy in body and spirit is way more comforting than a number on a scale, a dress\u00a0size, or a pace per mile.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I would encourage each of you to add quite time of meditation each day to help your balance and enhance your overall health.<\/p>\n<p>The longest relationship your are going to have in life is with yourself, so make it the best relationship your have.\u00a0 You are incredible.<\/p>\n<p>Happy Training,<\/p>\n<p>Dolores<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When it comes to health and fitness we always talk about exercising\u00a0your muscles with strength training.\u00a0 We talk about exercising your heart with cardio.\u00a0 We talk about eating healthy to support your exercise efforts and lose weight.\u00a0 Sounds like the whole package right.\u00a0 Well I say not quite.\u00a0\u00a0We will make wonderful gains with all that, [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_mbp_gutenberg_autopost":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.6 -
